The Long Road

It’s July of 2024.

Life was bittersweet at the moment, I had been living on my own for a year at this point and the unknown finances of adulthood were asking for more than I had. Stress was a close friend and anxiety was her partner, often times they came over after a dinner far too expensive. Thankfully, I had met a brother-to-be at this time in my life who had “adventure” written as his middle name. We set our sights on everything beyond what we could afford or make time for. As luck would have it, we made spontaneous plans to visit The Pretty Place Chapel in Greenville, South Carolina. After a grueling twelve hours inside a hospital, we took a short nap and away we went.

The drive there was filled with laughter, uncanny encounters and once-in-a lifetime events that I cherish deeply. We took the long road and it was worth every penny.
